KNL
Holds Post-Conference Discussion with KNU Leaders
July 30, 1999 On 23 July 1999, a group of KNL officials including Naw May Oo, Saw Winning, Saw Tha Taw, Saw BaSaw Khin, Saw Victor and Saw Kapi met and had an extensive post-KNL conference discussion with leaders of the Karen National Union. Present at the meeting were General Saw Bo Mya, President of KNU, Saw Shwe Hser, Vice President, Saw Ba Thin, General Secretary, General Tamalar Baw, Commander-in-Chief of KNLA, and Brigadier Mu Htoo of KNLA's No. 6 Brigade. KNL officials were accompanied by Saw Gweh Say, Saw Rocky and Saw Nay Dah Moo from the Karen Student Network Group (KSNG) who had the opportunity to observe the meeting. After the briefing on the First General Conference of KNL, the KNU leaders were imformed about the Grassroots Organizing Workshop for the KSNG students, a solidarity project jointly coordinated by the United States Student Association (USSA) and KNL, to be held on September 3-7, 1999.
