Small explosion in Myanmar capital, no damage
Small explosion in Myanmar capital, no damage 21 Oct 2005 13:56:26 GMT Source: Reuters YANGON, Oct 21 (Reuters) - A small explosion occurred in front of a business hotel in central Yangon on Friday but caused no casualties, police said. A police spokesman said the explosion caused no damage to the Traders Hotel and did not comment whether the blast was caused by a bomb. The area around the hotel is one of a number of spots in the city under tight security after bombs killed 23 people and wounded 162 in May. The military, which has ruled the former Burma in various guises since 1962, blamed the May attack on exiled opponents of the regime.
